There may be no harder worker in Auckland hospitality than the woman behind the chef’s counter at Shefco’s Dominion Rd outlet. Over multiple visits, we’ve seen her singlehandedly balance multiple orders, retail customers and bulk orders. Last time we visited, she’d cut her arm opening a tin so was only serving the uncooked food she could put together with one hand. We hope her bosses appreciate her (or that she is, in fact, the boss). All the classics you’d expect are present and accounted for — hummus, baba ‘ghannouge’, falafel — but all the vegetable sides and dips come with the highest recommendation.
