Kōkako coffee

An ideal cafe to park up at and do a bit of work in the morning (that large bench to the side is perfect for a solo diner), Postal Service is clean and minimal, with a blue-and-white theme remaining from its time as Kōkako Coffee’s flagship. It’s also still, many years later — and as one of the only fully vegetarian cafes in Auckland — a place where vegetarians can eat every single thing on the menu. Options abound. The food here is generous and full of flavour, particularly their version of huevos rancheros, a medley of beans, corn and egg on a corn tortilla (or swap out egg for tofu, as you can do with most dishes here, to make it vegan).
