If you want to make the most of your time at Mug ‘n’ Bowl, get the roast pork bánh mì, which is made using a baguette baked especially for them (we asked) — crusty on the outside but soft on the inside. The sandwich is one of the best in Auckland. You can eat it here alongside a flat white or a traditional Vietnamese drip coffee. If it’s cold outside, you might also opt for the pho, a bowl of deep, complex broth topped with a generous fistful of herbs. Both can be found in the “something different” portion of the menu, a foil to the “everyone’s favourite” side with its eggs benny, avocado on toast, big-breakfast-y sort of stuff.
