This is pretty much the only place in central Auckland where you can buy shokupan, the soft Japanese milk bread commonly used to make sandos featuring katsu and egg. Take a loaf home with you after you sample it in Mizu’s various sando options. We like those, but if you’re in for lunch, we recommend opting for the bento box, which refreshes weekly — it comes with a savoury, a sweet, pickles and soup. Mizu is also an ideal spot to get a snack on the go — a little Earl Grey melon pan, or maybe a sweetcorn pan — but perhaps our favourite thing about this place is the sweet stuff, especially the tiramisu in the cabinet. It’s excellent.
