The last Supreme Winner of our Top 50 Cafes list, Coffee Pen has a quiet hum. It’s a modest oasis, tucked away out of sight, and it certainly hasn’t lost the elements that made it our winner two years ago. Regulars here have different reasons for why they like it so much — the coffee, made to a consistent level of deliciousness by co-owner Yas; the dreamy cheesecakes and tarts; the cosy warmth of the place; or the way you always seem to run into someone you know. We like it for all of the above — plus the craveable fancy cheese rolls that make an easy morning-tea snack.
