The initial novelty of ‘huh, there’s a Mexican restaurant next to the tip in Henderson’ has evolved into Cielito Lindo being a mainstay of eating out in Auckland for under $25, even hitting the upper echelons of the genre. As far as we can tell, the only things that have changed in the four or so years it’s been open is the addition of brisket to the meat options and a new side of corn chips smothered in nacho cheese sauce that may or may not have been influenced by frequent off-menu orders of it by our editor’s young son.
