Amid tourists stopping traffic to take photos of the perfectly-framed cityscape below, the top of Anglesea St is near-permanently populated with revellers. Mr Toms has been attracting them since it opened its doors last November with casual shared plates and a fun, easy-going ethos.

Head chef Tom Williamson, formerly of United Kitchen and The Oyster Inn , is a big tapas fan, his most memorable experience occurring in a small restaurant in the old town of Palma, where all the classics were done to perfection. His tapas trail menu, however, focuses on a contemporary New Zealand style of cuisine, privileging seasonal local produce in dishes that are designed for sharing.

Mr Toms’ Estrella Damm Tapas Trail menu:

  • Saffron arancini, pistachio, Romesco sauce
  • Prosciutto, roast pear, burrata, hazelnut dressing
  • Market fish ceviche

Enjoy all three dishes with two glasses of Estrella Damm for just $40.

About the Estrella Damm Tapas Trail: Metro, in partnership with Estrella Damm, proudly presents a culinary journey across Auckland which pairs flavoursome food from 13 of Auckland’s leading eateries with Estrella Damm’s Mediterranean lager. View participating restaurants here.
