Metro Food Editor

Sep 15, 2023 What's On

We are excited to announce what will, for the right candidate, be the opportunity of a lifetime — a literal dream job so rare many thought it was extinct — food editor of Metro. We are looking for a smart, funny, enthusiastic and ambitious writer/editor to join our small team in our Karangahape Rd office.

The right candidate will, first and foremost, be a skilled writer (and commissioner of other writers) who can use their talent to communicate about the local food and dining scene across various platforms: a quarterly print magazine, a weekly email newsletter, all sorts of social media posts, engaging events, and other things we haven’t even thought of yet. Bonus points for candidates interested in art, culture, politics and/or current affairs.

Flexible working arrangements will be considered but ideally we’re looking for someone who will spend most of their working time in our Auckland office, contributing ideas and creativity across everything we do here at Metro. Perks include a lot of eating out, invitations to fun events, PR samples, sparkling office conversation, and more.

Interested parties can send a CV, a brief note about themselves and their relationship with food and dining and writing sample to contact@metromagazine.co.nz by September 30th.
